- If one of your family members has a residence permit or work permit, you must attach a copy of that person's residence permit/work permit to the file. If one of your family members does not have a residence permit, you must provide an income commitment or travel plan.
- You should apply for a residence permit especially from cities developed in tourism.
- If you are going to submit a travel plan, you should include documents regarding the places you will stay and the regions you will visit in your travel plan.
- You will need to prove your sufficient and regular income during your stay in Turkey as stated in Article 15 of Law No. 6458 with the documents you will submit to the Provincial Directorate of Immigration Authority. (1.5 times the monthly minimum wage)
- You must apply within the deadline and submit your file in full to the provincial directorate of immigration authority where you have made an appointment.
- How to Apply Tourism Residence Permit for the First-Time after February 2022
- After February 10, if you are going to extend your residence with a confirmed commitment, you must comply with the conditions specified in the commitment you have signed.
- If you are granted a residence permit, you must have in your account the amounts specified in the income commitment for a period of 6 months and for the periods specified.
- If you granted residence permits with your family members, you must keep the income corresponding to their stay in your account on a regular basis.

Within the scope of subparagraph E of the first paragraph of Article 31 of Law No. 6458 on Foreigners and International Protection, a residence permit for tourism purposes is foreseen. Foreigners who will stay in Turkey for longer than the visa or visa exemption period must apply for a residence permit. Families, students, immovable property owners, or investors who do not have a specific reason for their stay usually apply for a short-term residence permit for tourism purposes. More than half of the foreigners with residence permits in Turkey stay with short-term residence permits for tourism purposes.
Presidency of Migration Management introduced new regulations as of 2022 in order to reduce the number of tourism residence permits, and foreigners, particularly those applying for tourism residence permits for the first time, were asked to support their stay with a travel plan, family bond, or income. After February 10, 2022, most applications for foreigners entering Turkey for the first time and applying for a residence permit are rejected. Extension procedures for those with a residence permit are ongoing until February 10, 2022, and extensions for foreigners who submit complete documents are approved.
For first-time applicants, if their touristic stay is approved by the Migration Authority, they are given a 6-month residence permit by signing an income commitment. At the end of the 6-month period, when they want to extend their residence permit, it is checked whether they comply with the signed commitment.
